Bloating is usually an increase in the diameter of abdominal area
or it is a kind of swelling on abdomen. During bloating, the patient
feels as if the stomach is full and also feels tight. Stomach gas or
excessive intestinal is the main reason of causing bloating. Bowel
tightening, irregularity timed and no schedule are some causes of
intestinal gas, which leads to irritable bowel syndrome or stomach
bloat. Sometimes, bloating is responsible for adnominal pain also.
Taking fatty acids in high amount are responsible for discomfort
and also empty your stomach after a long period. These fatty acids are
also known as some of the foods that cause bloating. However, these
types of foods do not produce gas.
Foods that cause bloating includes carbohydrate supplement.
Carbohydrate is essential supplement but can cause bloating. Some fat
and proteins containing food are conscientious for gas, which
ultimately result as bloating. Sugars like raffinose, sorbitol,
lactose and fructose are factors, which are included in the list of
food causing bloating. Raffinose is considered as complex sugar, which
is contained by beans in large amount. In addition, the smaller
amounts of raffinose can be found in asparagus, cabbages, un-grinded
grains, broccoli, sprouts and vegetables.
Milk is a product in which natural sugar lactose is available in
high volume. Lactose can be also found in some of the milk products
such as yogurt, ice-cream and cheese. Salad, cereal and bread are
other products, which includes lactose. Most of the people especially
of America, Asia, and Africa have lactose in their body at very low
amount. Lactase is an enzyme, which is required to digest lactose.
The level of enzymes decreases as the age of people increases with the
time. Therefore, people may feel problems of gas when taking lactose
supplements.
Fructose is the richest source of carbohydrates. Pears, wheat
avocados and onions are some of the products, which have carbohydrates
in high amount. Some drinks such as fruit drinks and soft drinks, in
this fructose are used like a sweetener. In fruits such as pears,
prunes, apples and peaches, a sugar component is found which is known
as sorbitol. It acts like a sweetener in candy, dietetic food etc.
Most of the foods that contain starch are pasta, potatoes, wheat
and corn. These foods are essential factors for producing gas because
these are not broken in to stomach but usually broken down by large
intestine. Thus, starch foods are also among foods that cause
bloating. The only starch product that does not produce gas and is
easily digestible is Rice. Soluble fiber and also insoluble fibers
are present in many foods. Soluble fibers are those, which easily get
dissolves with water, and often in intestine make a gel or soft
texture.
Some people have propensity that eating fewer food helps bloating
whereas it increases. Better is to eat food low with fat such as
fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and milk products. Less fat in
the diet helps the stomach empty fast, which allow gases to move into
the small intestine. Some effective dietary changes may help
bloating.
